Why are children with mental health issues being thrown in
police cells? Often crisis intervention teams won't accept children, and the
Children and Adolescents' Mental Health Services (Camhs) is chronically underfunded
and fragmentary. It is suggested that the Care Commission's chief inspector of
mental health should spend a night in a police cell to see how it measures up.
